Yes...I'm alive..

Well, hi!

Been almost a year since my last post I know, but I doubt I had many views anyway!

But never mind that...I've been thinking about re-starting this blog for awhile...but I've never really had the motivation or the thought to put into making it the best it can be!

That's where I'm hoping you (if there's anyone actually reading!) will come in.

I'm looking to re-invent this blog, I've loads of different ideas as to what I could make it about but I'd like to know which one I should actually go with. Makeup is good and all that....but I'm not too sure it's what I'm most passionate about, I feel that only certain committed people should be giving you makeup advice, not me - if you get my drift!

If there is anyone actually reading, I'll put a list of what I've thought about making the blog about down below:

- Scrapbooking/Crafts (I've been really into this lately!)
- Interior Design (As I'm currently planning on redecorating my room, I could post DIYs?)
- Photography (Something I'm hoping to get into!)
- Books (Reviews, recommendations....whatever involves reading! I love to read!)

These are just some of my ideas, but I'd like to get some feedback, even if it's  one person or hopefully twenty people! I just feel as though I should start something new, with my GCSEs coming up, I feel as though I need something to distract me when I need to relax and unwind.

So please comment down below your opinions! Many thanks!

Should Makeup Define You?

Hi all!
For my first post I thought I should start off with a chatty advice-y sort of post.
**Sorry if you don't like these sorts of posts it won't be like this all the time I promise!**

Makeup has been around for many centuries now, makeup was created to define and enhance natural features upon ones face. For example there's eyeliner, to extenuate your eye shape and mascara to lift and extend already plump lashes! However, recently I have discovered and noticed especially in younger girls *I'm talking 11-12 year olds here* that they feel pressured or that it's necessary to wear makeup; this is not the case!
I have noticed that in our modern days of technology that an increasing amount of pressure is being put upon young girls *I understand boys feel this way also! I am just focusing on a female point of view as this is what I personally have and am experiencing still!* to look good physically. Just because your circle of friends coat their faces in full coverage foundations or pencil in their eyebrows til you can see them a mile away....doesn't mean you have to! Growing up and developing emotionally and physically can be and is a very confusing/scary period of your life as I along with many other young people have found out; through tough times and bad.

Personally, I love makeup, I think it's amazing and unique as you can create so many different looks with it! However, I don't believe that makeup should change who you are. I'm not writing this post to tell you how to act or look, but I know personally how difficult it can be as a teen girl in the 21st century, fitting in with a now "normal" society amongst young people. I never started getting into makeup until my 13th birthday, but I have always been intrigued by the different textures and colours of the masses of makeup in the world. It's important to stay true to who you are and not always swear by the latest beauty fads or trends, create your own styles and become your own role model! And if you are surrounded by negativity such as unsupported friends, learn when it may be time to take a step back and surround yourself by positivity instead! It will make life a lot brighter for you!

Well done if you managed to read this far! You get 25 points haha! I hope I was able to help in any way possible, or was able to shed some light on any difficult situations you may be in; if you are I hope they get sorted soon! Do feel free to leave any questions or advice for others in the comment section, this is a place of positivity and support!

My posting days will be Tuesday and Saturday so do keep your eyes open for lots of exciting posts coming up! See you later!
Love Sophie x
